Justice (for Hunter) Empty
PostSubject: Justice (for Hunter)   Justice (for Hunter) EmptyMon Jan 09, 2012 7:08 pm

Phil sighed as they arrived at the crime scene, he had had a bad feeling when he had woke up that today was going to be a rough day and now he knew he had been right. He got out of the car and walked up to the police tape, he ducked under it and slowly started to walk up to the house. He paused for a second, the stories from the other cops about how weird this crime scene was in the front of his mind. He sighed again and opened the door, staring at shock at how messed up this was. Blood everywhere and more then a few bodies, strange signs all over. Phil had never seen anything like this before and it frankly it almost scared him, which was saying a lot with all the things he has seen. He turned around when he heard a voice, he saw his partner Dylan talking to a tall man that looked like he was trying to get into the crime scene. He walked over to them, "Can I help you?"

Mark scowled down at the man who was blocking his way. Out of all the cops sent to investigate this particular crime scene, none of his usual contacts were there. The tall redhead silently cursed, wondering how Bradshaw managed to fuck up this one. He usually made sure the right people were sent to the bizarre and ritualistic murders, so Mark could get to the scene in peace.

"Can I help you?"

Mark's cold green eyes rounded on the cop. He sighed internally, then plastered a professional smile on his face. He'd have to try to make this work. He extended a hand in greeting.

"I don't think we've met. Mark Calaway. I work for your department as a consultant in certain special cases. From what I know of what happened in there, I think I can help you on this, Mr...?"

Phil waited a minute before shaking the man's hand, "Phil Brooks... So what do you consulte on and how exactly can you help Mr. Calaway?" Phil asked, he studied the man carefully. He couldn't get a clear vibe about the man, which made Phil feel like he was going to have to be alert around this guy. He wondered if his boss had sent him on this case just to be an ass to him, he hadn't really done anything to piss the boss off lately.... Well besides switching his beer with pepsi but that had been only the one time.

Mark hid a grimace. If his name didn’t ring any bells for the cop, he’d have to be careful about his explanations. Introducing himself as a psychic was likely to fail. He went with the usual cover.

“I am a specialist of the occult. Among other things, I help your department profile creeps who think killing people in rituals is amusing.” Mark nodded towards the house. “What I heard about this one might be linked to other cases. I just need to take a look. If I don’t find anything I’ll be out of your hair before you know it.”

"You an occult specialist? And you have dealed with these type of clime scenes before?" Phil asked, trying to figure if this guy was lying or not. "Why wasn't I told that you would be coming?" Phil asked. It wasn't like his boss to keep info from him, especially important info..... Of course his luck had really sucked lately and his phone might have gotten broken. He had his partner call the boss and confirm the info the man had gave.

Mark had never been a patient guy. Especially when there was a crazy ass psychopath running around and messing with powers that shouldn't be messed with.
He clenched a fist, took a deep breath and replied evenly.

"I'm not responsible for the communication problems of the police station." He sighed. "Look, call Bradshaw if you don't believe me. He's usually the one I work with."

John "Bradshaw" Layfield was a cop who used to work for Mark a decade ago. He had chosen a life away from the Underground and its dangers, but he continued to call Mark for the occasional beer and to deal with cases that the human police forces weren't equipped to deal with.

Phil frowned, something told him that the man was not telling him everything and that he knew more then he was willing to tell Phil at the moment. Phil waited a few minutes before deciding to pull out his phone and calling Bradshaw. He sighed as the phone rang and he waited for the man to answer it.
