Ted was probably one of the biggest actors of 1864, and he'd probably be the last one to tell you that. He didn't believe it at all. He knew he was good, and that people liked him, but he refused to believe he was one of the biggest. He was too modest for that, too. Probably one of the most modest people in the world. But if you ask anyone, he's the biggest of the time. Being in New York added to him being so big, too.

He had been acting since he was a child, probably about 4 years old. His father had gotten him into it. Growing up, Ted was a good liar, had the best poker face and was very outgoing. He had a lot of friends, and a lot of enemies as he grew up.

Now, at the age of 21, he was in one of the most famous plays to be written. It was a high maintenance lifestyle, very stressful, very hectic. But Ted took it all in stride, and was still one of the nicest people ever. But if you said or did the wrong thing, he could be the scariest, too. It all depended.

Currently, Ted was getting ready for tonight's show. He was always nervous. There was always something that could go wrong. But Ted was confident, despite his nervousness. He always was. That's part of the reason so many people loved him.

Ted went out, and did his best, but every time he made a mistake, he made a mental note that he would go over later. The show was a success, as usual, and Ted was on an adrenaline high from how great he himself thought it went.

After the show, he changed and gathered his things, heading out. He was exhausted, and was more than ready to hit the hay. He didn't know what awaited him.

Jasper was not fond of his lifestyle. Hsi life eded when he was 23. He was a young Major for the Confederate army. He had an immense passion for what he was fighting for. But that was seemingly short lived. Because now, Jasper was a monster.

Pale skin made of ice cold stone. His heart was dead, unbeating. But it could still. Oh boy could it feel. He was an empath, after all. ABloe to feel every emotion that ran through a persons body. When he fed on someone, he felt their fear. Their pain. Their anguish. It kill Jasper, just a little bit, every time.

But what took his mind off it, or made it worse, was his occupation. He trained newborns. He changed humans, young humans. Ones that barely got to experience life. Or ones that would never get to see their grandchildren.

Ted DiBiase would be one of them. As ordered by Maria, Jasper was told to find a few strong humans. Ones that could lead the army and fight till the death without fear. Someone smart. Ted seemed bright and strong enough to Jasper. So that's what brought the blond vampire to the theater.

But when he watched the play, he didn't know if he could contain himself. He could smell Ted from across the room. He smelled so sweet... so appetizing. It made Jasper's mouth pool with venom. If he hadn't fed before the play, he probably wouldn't have made it. He'd have killed Ted on the spot. Not to mention the man was attractive. Jasper's lust probably spread through the room due to his empathy, btu he didn't notice. Ted was beautiful in every way possible, including his scent. It all depended on Jasper's will power.

Jasper tried to focus himself.

"Contain yourself, and just change him." Jasper muttered to himself.

After the play, Jasper found the carrieage that would take Ted home. There was no one around, so in the blink of an eye, Jasper snapped the neck of the driver. He hastily put opn the clothes of the dead driver before tossing the body in the trunk of the carriage. He held onto the reigns of the carriage, an waited for Ted to come on. He would take Ted somewhere secluded, and end the young man's life.

Ted got into the carriage and sighed, leaning back. He was tired, and wouldn't be surprised if he fell asleep in the carriage on the ride home.

He had been pretty lonely, even though he was popular. He never found anyone who really fit his needs, or his wants. He just wasn't able to be someone. So he was still a virgin, obviously. And it's not like he hadn't been looking. He had. For a while. Twenty-one years was a LOOOONNGGG time to be alone. But he refused to get with someone just because he was alone. He wanted to be with someone because he loved them. And they loved him.

He sighed and closed his eyes, getting comfortable. He would not even notice if he was in danger at the moment.

Jasper drove them to the outskirts of town. Past deserted medows with the occasional barn or warehouse every few anchors. When they were far enough away, Jasper abruptly stopped the carriage and hopped down. He went over to the door, opening it and sliding in. He shut and locked the door, leaning back and crossing his arms. He licked his teeth, waiting for Ted to open his eyes so he could see his monster.

Ted didn't even notice when they stopped moving, or when Jasper entered and locked the door. Acting every night in a play like this took it's toll on someone. Ted may seem calm and collected on the outside, but on the inside, he was often a mess. There was a lot people didn't see underneath, because no one cared to. They saw Ted as this- this super-human, and he wasn't. He was just human. He was just Ted.

He sighed and his eyes fluttered open, and they landed on Jasper. He smiled tiredly at him. "Hello," he said.

Jasper smiled back, his sharp, white teeth gleaming. "Hello, darlin'." He drawled. He slowly began to move closer to Ted. "You're so very talented. And it's why I'll feel so guilty for taking it away from you. I hope you make it." He whispered, the last part more to himself. "If you do, forgive me." He breathed, crawling over Ted, caging his body his his ice cold frame. His breath was cool, that of a killer. He sent waves of calm to Ted. He also sent waves of lust. He tried to make Ted feel good before he changed him-- or killed him. It depended on if Jasper had the will to stop.

Ted frowned at what Jasper was saying. "I don't under-" he was cut off by Jasper crawling over to him and trapping him. Ted shivered. The man was freezing. "Holy crap. You're freezing! Are you sick?" he asked, feeling his forehead, which was ice cold. "Holy crap, dude! What's wrong with you?!" he asked, panicking, Jasper's waves of emotion doing nothing to Ted at all.

Jasper chuckled quietly. "Sick? I wish, sweet thing. That'd be a relief." He said and stroked the side of Ted's face. "What I'm gonna do to ya is gonna hurt real bad. If you make it, I can only hope you'll forgive me." He whisper and grabbed Ted's head, gently pulling it aside to bare his neck. Jasper kissed the warm flesh sweetly.

"Did you really just call me sweet thing?" Ted asked, frowning. His breath hitched and he closed his eyes when Jasper bared his neck and kissed it. "What are you gonna do to me?" he asked quietly, not wanting to die or anything. And Jasper kept saying "if you make it" like he wasn't going to. "Am I gonna die?" he asked softly. He was too young to die. And he loved acting too much to leave it.

Jasper stroked Ted's hair. "I hope so." He whispered, avoiding the other quesations before he held his breath and sunk his teeth into Ted. Venom pooled his mouth and ran straight into Ted's blood stream, eating up all the humanity the young man had left.

Ted screamed, the pain unbearable. He didn't know what was happening to him. It hurt so bad, that tears streamed down his face. His body burned, his heart beat fast, his breath was ragged and quick. He was miserable. It hurt. He hurt. And then, he passed out.

Jasper carried a screaming, thrashing Ted out of the carriage and ran. He ran for a few miles before finding a barn. He slipped inside, and saw there was hay, no animals. That meant no one would be coming inside. Jasper laid Ted on a bed of hay and sat next to him. He frowned when he stopped screaming. That was unusual. But he didn't question it and waited. He usually just brought them back to the training warehouse. But Ted sort of... called to him. Jasper didn't know how to explain it. But he wanted to watch the young man change, even if he didn't survive.

A few days later, Ted's eyes opened. He didn't take a breath, he didn't inhale. He blinked. Everything was clearer. Everything. From eyes, to ears. Brown was richer, yellow was brighter, green was... greener. Sounds were louder.

And then he was aware he wasn't alone. He flew up and across the barn, eyes on Jasper. "You," was all he said.

Jasper backed away slowly, knowing how powerful and unpredictable newborns were. And his power wasn't working, which was odd. "Yes, me..." he trailed off. "I'm Jasper Whitlock. And I know you're scared, but you're gonna be okay." He lied. He didn't know if Ted would be okay. Ted could make it as a soldier. Or he could be killed. Ted's fate was undecided.

"What did you do to me?" Ted asked, looking around. "And where in the heck am I? Why did you do this to me? God, I'm fucking hungry. Wait, I'm thirsty. Wait, I'm... both." He looked at Jasper. "What did you do?" he hissed.

Jasper kept his face stoic, putting on his usual "Major Whitlock" mask. "You're a vampire. You'll believe it soon. Now feed." He ordered, gesturing to the two dead bodies he got for Ted to feed on. They were fresh. So the blood was still nice and warm.

Ted looked at them, and as soon as the smell of blood hit his nose, he knew that that was what he had been needing. He slowly walked over to them and kneeled down, his green eyes taking them in. He leaned down and bit into one's neck, the warm, sweet blood flowing into his mouth and clenching his thirst/hunger. It was amazing.

Jasper leaned against the opening of the barn, looking out at the field while Ted fed behind him. The moon was the only source of light. And the training warehouse was a while up the road. But with their speed, it would take them 5 minutes at most to get there. Maybe only 3 for Ted. Since he was a newborn, he was stronger, faster, and wilder than Jasper. But Ted seemed to be in control of himself, which was odd. Either way, Jasper tried to see Ted as just another newborn. Another soldier. Simply another number.

When Ted finished, he looked up. "Why did you do this to me?" he asked. His life was over. He couldn't act anymore. He couldn't do anything that he wanted to do, because what had happened. He had no heartbeat, no warmth. Nothing. And that was hard for him, because he had grown up with everything.

Jasper turned around and looked at Ted, his expression emotionless. "Simple. I need the numbers. Now follow me. Run as fast as you can-- you'll be surprised." He said before he took off, flitting through the field and down the rocky road towards the training center.

Ted didn't move, not one single muscle. He was like a statue. No breath, no movement. He just stood there and stared out the doors. He wasn't gonna do anything a kidnapper said to him. A murderer. He had no place telling Ted what to do. None at all.

Jasper growled lowly and flitted back. "You will do as I say or I will end you." He said lowly, slowly walking towards Ted. "You no longer have a place in the world. Except with me. You'll fight. I made the mistake of changing you out here. I should have put you with the others. Let you hear their screams with your own. Now you'll follow my commands." He hissed.

"And why is that? Because you'll make me? How? What is that you're going to do to me?" Ted asked, crossing his arms, surprisingly calm. "You don't scare me. You're just a man who hides behind his weapons, like every human in the world. You're no better than than them, yet you act like you're superior to them all. You're not. You're lower." Ted was being harsh, yeah, but he didn't take well to being bossed around.

Jasper got in his face. "You don't know a thing about me." He whispered calmly. Maria had changed him, loved him, and always made sure he thought that he was better than the human population. They were superior. Even if he didn't know that Maria didn't love him, and was only using him for his gift.

"Now please follow me." He said quietly. He didn't know why he was trying so hard with this human. He could just leave him. Being a lonely vampire without a mate or coven was much worse that the army. At least that's what Jasper thought.

"I know that you're hiding behind your strength and speed as a vampire. All vampires do. You say you're superior, but you're as good as the King of England, hiding behind his power and his army. Guess what? America beat him. You aren't superior. You're inferior. Because at least humans can admit they have flaws. You vampires act like your perfect. But you're not. You can run, I'll walk," Ted said and walked out of the barn, past Jasper, as if he had had no effect on him.
