The Truth of the Matter

Seth sighed and leaned on the bench, watching Jay as he waited for the kettle to boil. "I never used to be like this..." He said quietly, unsure if he was thinking out loud or talking to Jay.

"What changed to make you like this?" Jay asked softly.

Seth thought about it as he poured coffee, handing a cup to Jay before getting his own. "I was fine, until I had to start stealing to pay rent and eat..." Seth sighed. "In other words, I was fine until I moved here. I guess the guilt of having to steal and the constant worrying that someone saw me..."

Jay nodded. "You wish you never of came to this godforsaken town too."

Seth smiled at him "Yeah...pretty much." He said, sitting on the couch with Jay. His paranoia had finally left him alone for the moment so he was taking advantage of it. He passed Jay something to eat, forgetting he was supposed to have kidnapped Jay.

"Thanks." Jay said as he took the food Seth handed him.

Seth smiled at him again, suddenly wishing Jay wasn't sitting on his couch because he'd kidnapped him.
Seth realised how sad it was that the closest thing he had to a friend was someone he'd punched and scared, just so he had money.

Jay smiled before taking a bit into his food. It was a nice comfortable silence.

Seth shrugged his shoulders and looked down at his food, slowly eating it though he wasn't very hungry anymore.

Jay looked shyly over at Seth as he ate.

Aware he was being watched, Seth slowly looked back at Jay. "Hmm?"
He raised an eyebrow at him, curious about why Jay was looking at him.

Jay blushed softly and looked away, "Nothing sorry." He said quickly.

Seth shook his head "Fine..." He sighed, going back to eating, though now he kept worrying what Jay's reason actually was.

Jay sighed softly, he was startong to feel attracked to the man that kidnapped him.

Seth pulled a face, putting his half eaten plate of food on the coffee table in front of them, and put his head in his hands. His paranoia was bothering him again because he'd wondered too much about why Jay was looking at him.

"Are you ok did i do something wrong?" Jay asked softly.

"No..." Seth sighed. "Not you, just the stupid paranoia...It's not your fault." He said softly.

Jay nodded slowly. "Oh ok."

Seth looked up and smiled at him. "I'm gonna go shower, do whatever you want..." He sighed getting up. He only said 'whatever you want' because he knew Jay couldn't get out of the house. Seth went into the bathroom, leaving Jay sitting by himself.

Jay nodded and watched as Seth walked into the bathroom. He got up slowly and looked around the small house, he found a few books to read.

When Seth was done, he came out only half dressed, not wearing a shirt.
He rarely wore one when he was at home, usually being alone. He was so used to it that he didn't think about it until he came back into the living room where Jay was.

Jay looked up and caught himself stareing at Seth. He blushed as he managed to look away.

Seth froze, unsure at first if he actually had just seen Jay staring at him. He smiled slightly as he turned away from him.

Jay shivered softly, the cold getting to him again.

Seth saw him shiver and disappeared into his room, coming back with a jacket, which he threw over to Jay. He pulled on a shirt afterwards, finally realising it actually was cold.
