Numb

"You're never going to move on and be happy if you don' take a risk, Mike," Stefan said, cupping his face and looking into his eyes. "Let me make you happy again."

Mike looked at him, some tears running down his cheeks. "Fine." He whispered. "Even though I don't deserve it."

"Everyone deserves to be happy. No matter what they've done," Stefan said and leaned in, kissing Mike again.

Mike kissed him back this time, feeling a lot better. Though he still felt tired, probably from puking all day, he felt good because of Stefan. "Thank you." He breathed. "I'm sorry for being an asshole to you on your first day. I just... I was frustrated with some things." He sighed.

"Don't worry about it," Stefan smiled. "Now let's lay back and relax, yeah?" he smiled and wrapped an arm around Mike.

Mike stiffened a bit at the contact, contact he wasn't used to. But eventually, he relaxed in Stefan's arms. "I can't help it. I worry a lot." He sighed, resting against him.

"I can tell. But you have no reason to worry. You'll be okay. We'll be okay. Everything will be okay. I promise," Stefan said and kissed the top of his head.

"I doubt everything will be okay." Mike muttered, closing his eyes and sighing.

"It will," Stefan smiled and kissed his forehead. "So what do you have to eat in this house? I'm starving."

Mike chuckled softly. "Yeah. C'mon, I'll make you something." He said and pulled Stefan into the kitchen. "What do you want?" He asked.

"I dunno. Something good?" Stefan chuckled. "How about chicken and mac n chesse? That sounds good to me," he said, sitting at the island, smiling at Mike.

Mike smiled and nodded. "That sounds good." He said and began to cook. "Stefan... why'd you kiss me?" He asked as he prepared the chicken.

"Because I could," Stefan replied, leaning against the island.

"Of course." Mike said, rolling his eyes and chuckling as he set Stefan's food in front of him. "What time do you wanna go home? There's school tomorrow."

"I'll just sleep here," Stefan said and began eating his food. "Mm. This is really good. You're a great cook," he said with his mouth full.

"You, um... you're going to sleep here?" Mike asked, feeling a little nervous at that thought. "And I'm glad you like it. I don't get to cook for people often."

"Yeah. Its easier than driving home in the pouring rain," Stefan said, nodding. "I'll just run home and change in the morning. And I'm glad to be someone that you can cook for."

Mike smiled. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. And I mean... did you plan on sleeping in my bed or something?" He asked, blushing. "I don't have any other beds and I...." He started rambling.

"Mike? Shut up. Yes, I plan on sleeping in your bed. With you," Stefan said, rolling his eyes and finishing up his dinner. "We don't have to do anything that you don't want to. I won't force you into anything." He got up and began washing the dishes.

Mike blinked and shut up after he mumbled "Alright alright. Thank you..." He whispered, looking at his lap. He never had somebody care so much about him, and what he was comfortable with. Sure, he was nervous to be fooling around with student, but Stefan was definitely mature for his age.

Stefan smiled at him. "Of course," he said. He was mature for his age, and he knew it. It was because he had grown up without parents and had to be mature enough to handle life on his own. He was sort of thankful for that, too, because he was only dependent on himself.

Mike nodded and smiled shakily. "I uh... I'm very tired. I had a long day. So I'm probably going to go to bed soon. I just feel under the weather." He said quietly rubbing the back of his neck and looking down. He still felt ill from all the stress he was under.

Stefan nodded and stood, picking Mike up and carrying him to the bedroom. He set him down on the bed and stripped him down to his boxers before stripping down to his own. He climbed into bed next to Mike and pulled him close, kissing his neck gently. "Goodnight, Mikey," he whispered lowly in his ear.

Mike squeaked as he was picked up, not used to people touching him so freely. But he didn't object and laid with Stefan, baring more of his neck when he kissed it. The affection felt nice. "Goodnight." He murmured, pressing against him and drifting off to sleep. Maybe he could be happy with the man sleeping next to him.

Stefan smiled and fell asleep after Mike, holding him close.

The next morning, Stefan woke and saw Mike still sleeping. He smiled and kissed his cheek, getting up and heading to the kitchen to make breakfast. By the time Mike got downstairs, Stefan would have a whole meal set up for him, nice and hot.
