Far Too Pretty To Be Givin' It Cheap

John bit his lip, his stomach screaming and kicking for food. "I-If you don't mind..." He murmured. He didn't get to eat everyday. He was seriously hungry.

"Oh I don't mind at all," Carter laughed. "I'm gettin hungry myself, my shift was almsot over."

John nodded. "Thanks..." He croaked, his throat on fire and swollen.

Carter frowned, "Yeh sound like yeh comin' down with somethin'. Scratch the pizza, we'll go back to my apartment and I'll make yeh something to eat."

John looked down, sniffling slightly. "I-If you insist." He followed Carter back to the car, his meds in a bag in his hands. "You know you don't have to do all this for me... I can be out of you hair tomorrow morning." He murmured.

Carter shrugged, "I don't have much to do anyways. Just work. Not much of a social life fer me."

John nodded. "I never really had a life. I've done this since I was a kid really." He sighed as they drove to Carter's place.

Carter walked her into his place, a small apartment. "Here we go kiddo, nice place."

John looked around. "I like it. It's homy.." He said with a slight smile. "So where's the couch?" H eased, assuming that's where he'd be sleeping.

"Oh no," Carter smiled, "Yeh'll be sleeping in my bed. It's much better than the couch."

John looked down. "You don't have to do that. Really..." He trailed off before he started coughing again.

Carter nodded, "Oh I insist. Get in bed, cover up. I'll make some chicken noodle soup."

"Okay..." John sighed and headed into the bedroom. He was freezing, so he quickly shed off his jeans so he was in his boxers and t-shirt before slipping under the warm comforter, trying to warm his shivering body.

Carter smiled, fixing up some chicken noodle soup. He brought it into the bedroom, smiling. "Here you..." he noticed Johnny's clothes on the ground. "Wh...why are you naked?"

John chuckled. "I'm not. I had a shirt and boxers on. My jeans just have... blood... on them." He said, biting his lip and sitting up, shivering slightly.

Carter nodded, "I have clothes in the top drawer. You should be able to wear them. I can wash you're clothes."

John nodded shakily. "T-Thanks. I'll change after I eat. I just... feel really weak..." He sighed, his body aching.

"You look like you're getting sick," Carter frowned.

John sniffled and shrugged. "M-Maybe..." He murmured, his voice cracked and whispery. "I'll be fine, hopefully..."

Carter smiled, "Tomorrow I'll take you to the clinic."

John nodded weakly. "Okay." He whispered and slowly ate his soup, the warmth soothing his throat.

"Is it cooked okay?" Carter smiled.

"It's perfect. And I don't eat everyday. You could have fed me coal in oil and I wouldn't have cared." He chuckled.

Carter smiled, "I just want you to be comfortable."

John smiled softly. "I'm ver comfortable. More than I've been in years." He whispered before yawning a bit.
