Maroon

John sniffed a bit, using his sense of smell to find his food on the table. He had learned it when he was in the hospital. G-d knows how many times his drinks were drugged when he went out. He dug in, his mind thinking of everything and nothing.

Adam smiled as he ate, watching John. It was amazing how well John could do things without his sense of sight. Adam wasn't sure if he would be able to survive without his eyesight.

John finished his meal and leaned back, unaware that Adam had been watching him. "So Ace, when's your next show? I'd be happy to come and see it." He said with a smile as he sipped his drink.

"I'm not entirely sure right now. I think I have one on Thursday," Adam replied, finishing his meal soon after. "You can stay backstage," he said, smiling at him.

John smiled and nodded. "THat sounds nice. So, you gonna drop me off at home? Or steal me and drag me back to your place." He snickered.

"I'm gonna drive down an alley and leave you there," Adam replied as he motioned to the waiter for the bill, smirking though he sounded completely serious. He would never do that to John.

John blinked, eyes wide. "But but but- I- You- I can't..." He pouted. "Your so mean to me. I'll get lost and raped and killed if you did that to me." He grumbled, scowling and crossing his arms.

Adam chuckled as he pulled out his wallet and put some money down, enough to cover the bill and a generous tip. He stood up and took Johnny's hand, pulling him up and leading him outside. He led him to the car and slid in after him, wrapping an arm around him.

"You better not take me to an alley." John grumbled and leaned into Adam. "but really, where am I going?" He asked, his hand absentmindedly stroking Adam's knee.

"My place," Adam replied as he leaned back, relaxing against the seat. "I figured that you might as well get a feel for the place if you're gonna be there often," he added.

John nodded and smiled slightly. "I guess it will. I'll have to memorize the layout. Is it big? And don't lie." He said, giving him a look as he crossed his legs.

"It's huge," Adam replied truthfully. Which was true. Two floors, but it was wide. About 10 rooms per floor. Plus a large backyard with an amazing pool and a view of the ocean.

John wanted to cry. The bigger the house, the harder it was to memorize it. "Oh lord..." He sighed. "I'm probably gonna trip over and shit, knock some stuff over. So beware." He chuckled.

"My house is clean. Like, pristine clean. And most of the room you don't gotta go in. Just count how many doors ya gotta go to do what. There's only 15 rooms. 10 on the second floor and five on the bottom floor, plus the attic and basement," Adam replied and they pulled up to the house.

John walked with Adam inside the house. "Feels big." He said, knowing it was big from the way his voice traveled throughout the place. "Wanna lead me to the bathroom?" He asked, his hand always still holding Adam's. He didn't have his cane, so he would be holding Adam's hand a lot while he was here.

"Sure," Adam smiled and lead him through the door between the two winding staircases in his foyer, down the hall to the fourth door and opening it. "Here ya go. It's a small one, a half bathroom. Only a sink and a toilet!" he chuckled before putting John's hand on the sink and walking out of the room. "Just holler when you're done!" he added as he walked away.

John chuckled and did his business when he heard the door close. He finished and was about to walk out the door when he looked to his side, feeling the sink. He reached up and felt a mirror. He looked at it with his unseeing eyes. He sighed softly and shook his head, walking out and glancing around. "Adam?" He called.

Adam was in the living room, flipping through channels on the T.V., attempting to find something to watch when he heard Johnny call to him. He chuckled before standing and walking back to him. "Nice bathroom," he said with a smile as he led Johnny to the living room. "I prefer upstairs, but I think I'll have you use that one. It's not as dangerous."

John nodded, raising a brow. "Why? Do you have spikes and coffins in the upstairs one?" He chuckled. "I can get up the stairs just fine... usually..." He trailed off. "I don't care if it's nice. So long as I can do what I need to, I'm happy." He chuckled.

"No, no. But my upstairs bathroom is, well, complicated. It has a lot of things to trip over. It's a maze," Adam chuckled.

John nodded. "So.. if I'm upstairs and I gotta shower or something, what am I supposed to do?" He chuckled. "This is why I loathe mansions. Why do you even have so much space?" He grumbled. "Just.. show me around upstairs. I'll try to memorize it."

"There should be another bathroom in the guest room that's not so elaborate as mine, I think. I'm not sure though," Adam said, standing up and holding his hand out to John.

John nodded. "Sounds good." He said, taking Adam's hand and following him upstairs. He listened to the trail of Adam's footsteps, where they went as they walked.

Adam smiled and lead John upstairs, taking a left. "Okay. So down this hall isn't a whole lot. Third door on the left is weight room and the fourth on the left is the music room," Adam said, letting his walk freely and feel the wall. "Don't worry about the other rooms for now. Once you've got those two down, you'll be fine," he added. "You ready to go the other way?"

John listened and nodded, feeling where the doors where and memorizing it. "Yeah." He said softly and followed Adam the other way. "Do you have a piano?" He asked as he felt the wall absentmindedly, looking over at Adam.
